ahhhh .... still so happy {and satisfied!}

I'm telling you - I'm still singing the praises of being Primal. I LOVE LOVE LOVE eating the food. The hardest part is that I'm usually NOT HUNGRY so I go longer in between my meals. I had THE BEST salad today and I'm seriously counting down the hours until I can have it for lunch tomorrow. I used mixed greens, some english cucumber, grape tomatoes, 2 hard boiled eggs, and a chicken breast all tossed in a little EVOO and balsamic vinegar (and a dash or two of sea salt).

Also, I'm guessing that some of you might be thinking that it's super unhealthy to be having a high fat diet, but let me give you a dumbed-down explanation (and it's not dumbed-down for your sake, but for mine). Your body needs fuel for energy. That is why people eat carbs. The carbs that are not used for energy are turned into sugar then fat. The sugar also triggers insulin production, which contributes to the fat retention.

Fat, does NOT effect insulin. And the body can use fat as fuel.

When you mix high fat with low carbs, you get great results. There are many other side effects from high carbs, and for those worried about fiber, you get plenty of fiber from your vegetables.

Anyway, there is MUCH MORE to all this, but I'm still reading all about it. But again, I'm super stoked on it.

But enough about that ... does anyone want to watch a kdrama again? I know it's been a while since I last talked about it - so I'm assuming you all are watching the kdrama of choice right now. But I was talking on FB with a friend about Springz Waltz and it made me SOOOOO want to watch it again. So does anyone want to? Its okay to say 'no'. For reals. But if you say 'yes' ... I won't lie ... I'll be stoked.

So what do you want to do?

um ... I think I'm in love

Seriously. I love this. I'm not even kidding. Going Primal is freaking amazing. Now, you're probably going to think I'm lying, but I swear I'm not. I lost like 2-3 pounds over night. Yes, it's probably just water weight or bloat, but I.DON'T.CARE. I freaking LOST something! That hasn't happened in I don't know HOW long!

Granted, I do not think this kind of 'weight loss' is going to continue every day, and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the fact that I also dropped my Diet Pepsi/Coke consumption, but regardless, I'm stoked. It was that little pick-me-up that I just NEEDED as encouragement!
Here's something else - the husband and I were discussing tonight how neither one of us experienced any kind of 'crash' today with our blood sugar. We were never ravenously hungry (you know, the kind where you get kinda frantic that you need to eat something) and we felt really good all day. In fact, the husband said that when he normally has cereal for breakfast, by 10am his stomach is growling and he has to eat something. But today ... he didn't feel that way at all. In fact, he wasn't even that hungry when he got home.

I have a feeling that the husband is going to get ROCKSTAR results pretty fast. When he's done other weight-loss 'methods', his body always seems to respond pretty quickly. So I'm excited for him. Even though I'm pretty sure he'll double my progress, I can't wait to see his results as well.

Oh, one more thing I thought I'd share. When I started Weight Watchers, I kept trying to find the loop holes... I kept trying to see how much crap I could get away with eating and still get some sort of results. But with being Primal, I don't want to push the limits. I want to stick to the program as closely as I can. And I can't wait for each day to come so I can eat awesome food and see my body change. It's not a matter of 'if' my body will change, but I believe whole heartedly that it will. This switch in my mentality ... I have no idea where it came from. I can only guess that God has zapped my mind as I feel like this is going against everything I've ever done (and believed) in the past. But I'm excited. I'm happy. I'm so incredibly glad that I'm starting this journey.

And weigh-in days? BRING IT! I can't hardly wait!

my first day being Primal

Honestly ...

it wasn't bad at all!

I actually really enjoyed it. For reals.

For breakfast I had bacon and eggs
(how can you go wrong with that - right?!)

and then for lunch I had this:

growing up - this was known as 'Grandpa's Special'
(it was something my Grandpa made up)

basically it's cucumber, green beans, tomatoes and bacon

here's what I had for dinner:

yeah ... it looks kinda ugly.

it was some steak, scallops, green beans, carrots
and a few tomatoes.

So here are my thoughts on it:

I LOVE eating like this.
But I think I ate too much.
Like I'm pretty sure I ate too many green beans
and too much steak at dinner.

I didn't weigh anything, but the steaks we bought, I ate just over half of mine.
But I have this thing about 'fat' on meat, so I cut all the fat off
and just had edible pieces. But I still feel like maybe it was too much.

Anyway, my focus right now is to just NOT CHEAT and eat
as 'Primal-ly' as I can. So far - it hasn't been that hard.

Oh yeah. I had some dark chocolate tonight.
(and it was fabulous)
I got 73% so it's pretty darn dark.
And because of that, it's SUPER rich... so you can't eat that much.

I guess I should mention that I also drank 5 bottles of water too.

Good things are happening.

It's only been one day, but I got a good feeling about this.

Becoming Primal

Okay, so I'm super tired and I still have a bunch of reading left to do on this whole Primal thing. But the basics, is that you eat a diet that is high in fat (good fat), protein and vegetables (and some fruit). Basically it's no carbs. Like no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes... no grains. No legumes. No sugar.

Sounds hard? I guess, but I'm so sick of being how I am. The biggest thing for me is giving up rice. I love rice with all of my heart and seoul. (haha - did see you see that? yeah, that spelling was on purpose) But I think I'm mentally prepared for this.

So tomorrow I'm having bacon and eggs for breakfast. I know. Sounds pretty horrible  ... right?

sorry this is late ...

I was up late chatting and then the eldest daughter was having a rough night so I kinda forgot to post.

But I'm super excited because I'm starting something new on Monday.

I'm going Primal.

(any guesses to what that is?)

it's my party and I can rant if I want to ...

I had written a long 'rant', but I just deleted it. There is so much I want to say, but I know it's pointless. Feelings have been hurt today. Statements have been made. Views have been exposed.

The adoption process is a crazy one.

so what if we really switch things up ...

... and go with the Historical Drama? I've actually heard really good things about them and I think it might be cool to learn a little 'history' about Korea. Also - I won't be tempted to blast through it as quickly (or maybe I will - hahaha!) so we can all really do this thing together.

What do you guys think? Be honest. Are you open at all to a Historical Drama?

Also, I went and saw Miss Saigon at a small theater house tonight. First time watching it and let me just say ... that story line is MESSED UP! I cried really hard. Seriously. I think it messed me up.

But enough about that - let's figure out this kdrama thing!

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this -

but I'm certain some of your hearts will be broken ...

Tuesday, August 23, 2011

Okay - so there were so many comments and comments on comments that I just decided to answer here instead! HA!

So I need to take a quick poll: for those who have watched City Hunter AND/OR Secret Garden - which one would you want to see? I haven't see those, so I'd be curious to know which you prefer.

Also - has anyone seen Spring Waltz? I LOVED that one and I would SO watch it again... but if those of you who saw it don't want to - I completely understand.

So please - let me know what you guys think!!!!

and just like that ... it's over

It's kind of bitter sweet that The Greatest Love is done. It was SUCH a fantastic kdrama for sure! Today was just super draining for me ... so I haven't figured out what kdrama we'll do next. I kind of have a hectic next few days, so I'll probably take a few days to figure it out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

So I apologize for keeping this short ... but when both kids are sick and the husband works a double... well ... it just makes me tired. My 'to do' list is a mile long tomorrow. Wish me luck in getting it done. As I actually think it'll take luck for me to accomplish all that I need to do.

Final Episode

It's hard to believe that the final episode is here. I loved how they had the 'leaked video' and how genuine Dokko Jin was. Of course I cried. But the best part EVER was when they did the FOLLOW UP on their lives! That was the thing that killed me MOST in Boys Over Flowers. I wanted to know what happened AFTERWARDS! (and just a little fyi ... there are some 'follow up' mini episodes of BOF but they are totally lame, not worth your while and add absolutely ZERO to the storyline. If anything, it just makes you angry because you feel like you were lied to.)

So share your favorite parts! I want to hear it!

(and another fyi ... I think I'm going to start up Weight Watchers again. I'm going to transition into watching what I eat more carefully this week, but I'm going to be out of town again towards the end of the week, so I'm trying to figure out when I should do my weigh-ins. But once I figure it out, I'll be sure to let you guys know!)

Episode 15

I'm home! I had a SUPER fabulous time with my girlfriends, but it's always great to be home. LOVED hearing my kiddos laugh and play with each other, and of course it's good to see the husband again. I missed him (of course!).

Got to do some shopping and I ate a TON of fabulous food. Good times had by all.

But tell me your thoughts on Episode 15. We're almost to the end (even though everyone finished it already - but lets stay the course and finish this out right!). So what were you favorite moments? Do share!

(and who wants to do another one after this?!)

Episode 14

We're almost to the end! Craziness!

I got 5 hours of sleep last night which is WAY LESS than I normally get - but chatting late into the night is something us girls just have to do every now and then, right?

Anyway, I can barely keep my eyes open... I have no idea what I'm even doing awake right now. So please, leave comments regarding Episode 14 below.

(Oh - and I got some AWESOME bento box Hello Kitty stuff today. Fo' shizzle.)

Episode 13

I made it to my destination and I'm having a grand ol' time. My girlfriend made brownies from SCRATCH! I mean, WHO DOES THAT?! She does apparently - and they were awesome. Tomorrow I'm shopping... and hitting up a bunch of Korean shops and even a Japanese one... I'm hoping to find a cute Bento box for the eldest child's lunches. Wish me luck!

And write your thoughts on Episode 13 in the comments below!

Episode 12

Sorry for the lame posts. But guess what? I'm feeling better. Which is good since I'm going out of town tomorrow. But I'll have my laptop with me, so we can continue the fun.

So until then... leave your comments about Episode 12 below. Me? I gotta go finish packing.

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Episode 11

This is the Episode where I was experiencing fits of hysteria from my crying at the end. Anyone else experience anything similar?

(I'm starting to get better! I can easily breathe through my nose without taking medication, although my energy levels are super low ... granted ... they have never been super high ... but they're still lower than normal)

Monday, August 15, 2011

Episode 10

Still sick - please talk about Episode 10 in the comments below :)

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Episode 9

Sorry guys - still sick. In fact, I'm feeling sicker. But leave your 'favorite moments' from Episode 9 in the comments.

I'm out.

Sorry for the delay...

I'm not home right now, so I forgot to post last night regarding Episode 9. I'm also sick, so I didn't watch the episode.

I'll be back on track tomorrow (I'll post later this evening).

Sorry about that!

Saturday, August 13, 2011

Episode 8

So first, I have to say that in Episode 7 I LOVE LOVE LOVED when Dokko Jin and the Doctor were 'competing' for the shoe bids. I LOVED IT!

And when the Doctor gave her all 3 roses?!?!?!? OH MAN! I didn't see that coming, but I LOVE HIM!

Also - at the end, when Dokko Jin talked to HIS heart Doctor about the music being playing during surgery... did anyone else already figure that out, or was I the only one that was completely oblivious to it. I mean, I remember the opening... and they showed the surgery part and the song and the CD case, but it NEVER connected to me that it was Dokko Jin. So please ... tell me ... am I completely oblivious?

Thursday, August 11, 2011

that random thing I was talking about ...

Wasn't that HILARIOUS?! I mean - I've NEVER seen 'Chicken Fights' like that. First off, I don't think I can get my fat sausage leg to bend like that... and then to hop around and knock someone elses's knee? Incredible! This is the kind of stuff you'd do either at Church Camp or College. (and you KNOW that you would so think it's cool!)

So I was totally going to watch Episode 6 again but I didn't have the chance to as I was gone for a good portion of the day, and the portion where I was home, I was super busy. But I'm going to get back on Track with Episode 7. So again, watch Episode 7, and then comment below..

Which wait ... I think that means I'm supposed to be on Episode 8 (I'm supposed to be an episode ahead of you so I can write things for us to talk about.... ) Shoot - is anyone on schedule that can tell me what I'm supposed to be watching right now?!?!??!?!

And as for the 'crying thing' with me... just keep this in mind: When ever Dokko Jin cries ... I cry 10 times harder. We're just connected like that. For reals.

Seriously ... has anyone cried yet?

No one seems to mention if they've shed any tears yet. I TOTALLY did by episode 5. For reals. So what's up? Are your hearts made of stone?

I finished the series. All I'm going to say is that some 'guesses' of what I thought would happened didn't. LOL. And I cried non-stop from Episode 11 till the end. But then again ... I'm an easy crier ...

So I'm going to go back and watch from the Episode we're supposed to be on... which should be Episode 6 right now ... what's your favorite part from this episode?

(... oh, I think I still have a headache from all my crying ...)

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

I have to admit - I LOVE it when Dokko Jin calls the nephew that. Seriously. LOVE.IT.  But I have another confession to make. I can't just watch one episode per day. This story line is killing me so like any reasonable insane person, I went ahead and watched a TON more today. (don't worry - the husband was home so the children were not neglected... and before he got home I used all of nap time to watch as well - HA!)

So I just finished Episode 11 and I was BAWLING MY EYES OUT. Like I pretty much was ugly crying. The husband had to get me tissue and I could barely talk and he mumbled something about '... you really gotta stop watching these things... yada yada yada ...' and instead I just kept crying harder. But I cry easily. Like... has anyone else shed a tear yet?

I'm telling you - if you were watching me watching this, you'd think I was a lunatic. One minute I'm laughing out loud, the next I'm freaking out, and then I end up sobbing uncontrollably. What IS IT about these kdramas that just mess with my emotions?!?!??!

So here's the dealio - you guys should be on Episode 5 right now. There's something really random and funny in Episode 6, so I'll wait to talk about that tomorrow. I'll probably finish the series by the end of the day and then I'll go back and watch the episodes 'on schedule' with you all. I just can't wait - I gotta find out how this ends ... and just so you know ... I think there's going to be some CRAZY interesting stuff. I mean, they have to mess with us some how, right?!

So what's your favorite stuff from Episode 5 - SPILL!!!

Saying Goodbye

So I noticed in the comments that people are wondering about the whole, "I'll leave first" comment that they're saying in Kdramas. And wanna know what's funny? I noticed the same thing - so I asked my Korean Tutor this morning (this was before I read any of the comments too!)

He said that there are two ways of saying Good-bye. One is when someone is leaving, and another is when you're leaving someone's house. (maybe some of our Korean speakers can chime in on this) So those are actually part of my 'homework' this week. LOL. I haven't been listening really carefully during those parts to see what it is they're actually saying. The two words (which I can't recall at the moment - hahaha!) are VERY similar, and the 'differing' syllable is in the middle. So again, for a non-native speaker, I'd have to really pay attention to try and 'hear' the difference... and honestly, I'm not sure if I could! haha

Now on to the 4th Episode ...

I think my all time favorite part was when the Doctor covered AeJung's (is that her name?) ears when the girls were talking bad about her. If he didn't have my heart already, he certainly does now!

And I like when Dokko Jin calls the nephew 'Ding Dong'. It just makes me laugh.

But I have to say... I'm getting really curious to hear more about the 'break up story' of National Treasure. To find out that her friend Jenny is also a former National Treasure was SUPER surprising for me. I didn't see that coming... and the flash back with the 4th member? What was THAT all about?! I think there's WAY more to the story line then they're letting on right now (which is of course how kdramas work...)

So what are your thoughts?

Episode 2 & 3

Okay - so the subtitles are working FABULOUSLY for me now, so I have NO complaints. And I have to say - I've officially gotten 'into' this one. I don't know why. Dokko Jin is not my favorite - but I find him endearing, and the girl (I can't remember her name) isn't my favorite either, but I'm KIND OF rooting for her.

But I have to say ... I've already cried, laughed super hard, and clapped out of sheer glee from watching the show.

Oh - and I did go ahead and watch Episode 3, as I'm thinking it'll be better for those who want to comment on the episode, can do so by coming to the blog AFTER you watch it. Does that make sense?

So here's my thoughts on Episode 3:

I love the doctor. I'm going to be sad because I highly doubt she'll end up with him. But I love him. And I LOVE how Dokko Jin is just ... goofy. Like the part when he was smiling/frowning when his Manager was trying to decide who he was going to 'vote' for? KILLED ME. Seriously - I was laughing SO hard.

So share your thoughts on the episode.. I'm curious to know what you all think. OH - and I'm going to have to show REAL restraint because I TOTALLY want to watch a ton of episodes back to back. For reals.

SOOOOOOO annoying

I don't know about you guys - but the 'subtitles' for me were HORRIBLE! Now, I'm a pretty fast reader, but I couldn't follow for part of the time because they were being flashed on the screen so quickly. I can't tell you how many times I almost called it quits.

Did any of you run into the same problem?

I guess I don't actually have any discussion questions this early in. I mean, I could barely understand what the heck was going on. But I will say that I totally cringed at the end when she talked about the 'bribe' to Peter Jason. Seriously - I gasped, the husband looked at me, and I blurted out, 'she just mentioned the bribe!!!' He just ignored me and went back to playing on the ipad.

So do any of you have any thoughts or comments on the first episode? If the next has bad subtitles I might lose my brain. So PLEASE tell me you had no problems and it was working fine for you all!

Are you ready to DO THIS?!??!!

Alright my kdrama watching friends! I'm soooooo incredibly excited to start this little 'side venture' with you all. If there's one thing I love about watching kdramas, it's being able to TALK ABOUT THEM afterwards! So this is kinda of a dream come true for me. For reals.

So here's the deal - the kdrama that I've chosen for us to watch is:

I have a Korean friend who LOVED this series.
And just so you know, it's a recent kdrama, that was just aired in Korea.

I'll be honest with you - I took a short peek at this kdrama a few day ago.

... it wasn't my favorite ...

but I'm going to believe that it builds and only gets better.

here's a few things to keep in mind:

Kdramas are cheesy ... with an extra helping of cheese

subtitles are provided

you'll find that English words are randomly used

So what are we waiting for?!

Watch the 1st Episode at some point today
and tomorrow I'll have some discussion questions.

sound good?

Last Question

Okay - real quick - for those of you who want to do the Kdrama viewings ... do you want to do something fun ... or drama filled ... intense ... something you've seen before?

I'm thinking that maybe we should watch something that none of us have ever seen... and I'll pick it off of so that everyone can get access to it.

What do you think? Sound good? Let me know in the comments and then we'll start tomorrow.

Thursday, August 4, 2011

Let's DO IT

I'M FINISHED!!! Totally done. It's shipped. Gone. OUT.OF.MY.HOUSE. And it is the best feeling ever. Can you tell that I'm stoked?

So let's celebrate by watching a Kdrama together. Who wants in? Before we pick one, I want to know what people want to 'commit' to. Most kdramas are typically 1 hour in length (give or take a few minutes) and they can be found online at or (I've used both and to be honest, I prefer dramafever).

So for those who are interested in watching/discussing kdramas together, how much time can you commit to? Can you do one episode a day? I mean, I've done numerous episodes a day, but I doubt you all are as obsessive compulsive over these things as I am (well, there are a couple of you out there who are WAY worse than me - HAHAHAH!)

So think about what you want to do, and then leave a comment telling me so I can figure out the schedule for this thing. Coolio?

And as a special treat ... it's been a long time since I've posted this Kpop 'mash up' (I actually can't remember if I ever posted it here, or if it was on my other blog...). Anyway, this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE mash up and it makes me SUPER happy when I listen to it. So I think I need to download it as well. Seriously... if I started every day with this playing, I think it just might change my life.

(I am SO angry. After 15 minutes of NOT being able to get
the stupid video to 'embed' on my blog, I now
have to post a stupid link. Guess I need to watch
the video again so I'll be in a good mood)

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

It's done. It's really done. I just have to finish 'packaging' it all up in the morning and then I can ship! I'm super excited. And Super exhausted.

But BOY am I tore back. I'm wearing my arm brace right now (on my left arm), and my index finger has blisters in two different spots and it's WAY swollen too. Oh yeah... and I'm in desperate need of a shower.

It's almost 2:15a. What am I still doing up?

Good night. Or rather ... good morning.

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

I'm soooooo tired

Another super productive day. Like... so productive that I even impressed myself. Turns out I increased my speed on making some of my flowers by quite a bit. Pretty awesome.

I basically have all the separate parts finished and tomorrow I get to start putting everything together. I'm thinking that I just might get this order shipped off on Wednesday after all! Now THAT would be fabulous.

And now, I must close my eyes, as they're going to whether I like it or not.

Monday, August 1, 2011

So I just finished having a fight with iphoto ... and my computer.

They won. I'm beat. So I'm headed to bed.

Here's a little peek of my super cute model. I have to admit - I'm totally under her spell. Everything she does is totally amusing to me. And she makes me laugh super hard and non-stop. I SO love her!!!

I will end on a good note, though. I finished everything I needed to finish tonight, and in record time. I'm pretty impressed with myself, and I actually thought I wouldn't finish. Now if only the next couple of days can go the same way ...
